| Emotional Freedom Techniques, is a natural self-help tool. Simply stated, it is psychological or emotional acupressure. EFT is based on the premise that the mind and body are inextricably linked. Your emotions are reflected and manifest in your body. EFT helps to dissolve emotions such as anger, fear, guilt or shame, that may be stuck in various parts of the body, causing dis-ease. Using your fingertips, you gently tap on body points called energy meridians (the same meridians used in acupuncture), while you are tuned into your physical or emotional issue. Tapping the body points has the effect of clearing any energetic blockages in the various meridians. There are amazing stories of EFT successfully treating weight loss, phobias, stress, dyslexia, allergies and serious diseases such as multiple sclerosis and diabetes.<
EFT can be used on any issue. My areas of speciality are; self-image, stress, chronic illness, trauma and underlying patterns and beliefs that may be contributing to health issues and dis-ease. | From a backround of having past-life memory as a child, Kathy embarked on her own journey of researching and exploring past life memory as a young adult. Some Clients need the added experience of past life regression to help them to make necessary changes to their behaviour in this life. I can facilitate this requirement by bringing the client back to a past life. Having gained my past life diploma I can then use this experience to assimilate the experiences into this life, and so gain ultimate relief from any suymptoms experienced.

Psychotherapy:
The aim of therapy is to ensure freedom from whatever has been restricting your capacity to make the most of yourself and your life. These restrictions are usually emotional or psychological in nature. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR and Hypnotherapy are particularly effective in facilitating positive change in a wide range of problems. Because every person is unique, therapy beings with an assessment; the best approach is then taken for each person's individual problem to ensure that each client derives maximum benefit from therapy.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - CBT
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is based on modifying cognitions (thoughts), assumptions, beliefs and behaviours and has become widely used to treat a variety of conditions. CBT is a combination of Cognitive Therapy, which can modify or eliminate your unwanted thoughts and beliefs, and Behavioural Therapy, which can help you to change your behaviour in response to those thoughts. This therapy is based on the belief that most unwanted thinking patterns and emotional and behavioural reactions are learned over a long period of time. The aim is to identify the thinking that is causing your unwanted feelings and behaviours and to learn to replace these with more helpful thoughts and behaviours.
EMDR is a form of psychotherapy that was developed to resolve symptoms resulting from disturbing and unresolved life experiences. It uses a structured approach to address past, present, and future aspects of disturbing memories. EMDR is a multi-faceted approach. The fact that it simultaneously works on mind, body, and emotions may account for its success in taking mere intellectual understanding of the origins of a problem to a resolution where post-traumatic symptoms such as intrusive thoughts, nightmares, and other distressing symptoms resolve.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy has been used to help alleviate physical and psychological problems for centuries and its use is recorded as far back as 3000BC. More recently, the value of hypnosis as a clinical therapeutic tool is being appreciated once again and it is increasingly used in combination with other therapies to address a range of problems, such as depression and anxiety, trauma and abuse, stress management and pain relief, to name but a few of its applications. Therapy for complex emotion problems such as these is analytical in nature. Less complex problems such as smoking, nail-biting, exam nerves, etc., can be treated with Suggestion Therapy which is the more commonly know type of Hypnotherapy.
Combination Therapy
Each therapy can be delivered independently. Indeed many therapies contain common elements of other approaches. For example, EMDR incorporates elements from different therapeutic approaches. The combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Hypnotherapy is powerful as it works with both the conscious and sub-conscious minds, thus ensuring that you have a greater chance of uncovering the root cause of your problem and achieving positive changes in your life. CBT can be used without Hypnotherapy. Some people prefer the here and now approach of CBT, whilst others prefer Hypno-Analytical Therapy to resolve past issues. The best approach for you will be discussed, given the nature of your problem, your own preferences, expectations and goals for therapy.
